Applications Open for a Vacancy on the Mohave County Superior Court

Phoenix, AZ - The Governor’s Office is accepting applications for an upcoming judicial vacancy on the Superior Court in Mohave County given the retirement of the Honorable Lee F. Jantzen. 

The Governor’s Office will review applications and interview selected applicants for the position, and Governor Hobbs, pursuant to Article VI, Section 12 of the Arizona Constitution, will appoint a new judge to serve through the election and qualification of a successor at the November 3, 2026 General Election.

Applicants must be at least 30 years of age and less than 65 years of age, of good moral character, admitted to the practice of law in Arizona for the past five years, a resident of Arizona for the past five years, and a resident of Mohave County for the past year pursuant to Article VI, Sections 22 and 37 of the Arizona Constitution.

Candidates may apply by submitting a complete application via email to azgovlegal@az.gov. by 5:00 p.m. on April 30, 2026. The application can be found at https://bc.azgovernor.gov.

Initial interviews with Governor’s Office staff will be open to the public. More information on the time and location of interviews will be posted on https://bc.azgovernor.gov.
