Superior Court
Generally, there are two categories of cases heard in the Superior Court: criminal and civil. The court has exclusive original jurisdiction in all proceedings and matters affecting dependent, neglected, and delinquent children under eighteen years old, and is responsible for supervising adults and juveniles on probation.
Justice Courts
Mohave County is home to four limited jurisdiction justice courts established by the Constitution of the State of Arizona, under the direct supervision of the Arizona Supreme Court. They are located in Bullhead City, Kingman, Lake Havasu, and Colorado City (North Canyon).
Municipal Courts
Mohave County is home to three municipal courts, under the direct supervision of the Arizona Supreme Court. They are located in Bullhead City, Kingman, and Lake Havasu.
Clerk’s Office
The Superior Court Clerk’s Office can assist you with obtaining copies of court records, marriage licenses, orders of protection, passport applications, process server information, restitution payments and other court-related services.
Family Court Services
The Family Court has extensive jurisdiction over many domestic matters, including adoption records, child custody and child support, divorce, domestic violence, paternity, and guardianship/conservatorship court proceedings.
Probation
Mohave County Probation strives to protect the public, serve justice, and change lives by fostering sustainable, positive changes in youth and adults, by providing access to evidence-based resources, interventions, and practices. We are dedicated to promoting personal responsibility, pro-social growth, and family stability.
Small Claims
Small claims courts can be used for civil claims that do not exceed $3,500. Procedures in small claims cases are intended to be simple enough for a person to file all the necessary forms and represent him/herself at an informal hearing.
