Caseflow Manager

The Superior Court seeks to establish a hiring register for the position of Caseflow Manager scheduled to be filled on or around January 1, 2007.  Position will perform professional administrative level work related to the management, coordination, administration, oversight and evaluation of case management activities for the purpose of improving case processing and related functions in the Superior Court.  The ideal candidate will possess strong project management, data analysis, problem solving and interpersonal communication skills, demonstrate a passion for teamwork and excellence in customer service, and will possess necessary administrative and technical experience including a working knowledge of Crystal Reports.  Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in public, business or judicial administration or related field or equivalent, and three (3) years of relevant, progressively responsible court operations, case management, records management, business systems operations, business systems development or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Court Services Supervisor
Clerk of Superior Court, Lake Havasu City or other worksite locations as assigned.

Performs first line supervisory and complex legal work of considerable difficulty associated with the day-to-day and overall operation of the Lake Havasu City satellite office of the Clerk of Superior Court.  Responsible for a combination of supervisory, office, front counter, and courtroom clerk tasks.  Ideal candidates should possess high school diploma or equivalent, three years progressively responsible court clerk experience, court assistant, legal secretarial, or closely related work experience; one (1) year of management or supervisory experience, excellent organizational, teamwork/customer service skills, and keyboarding at 60 words per minute.  Top candidates will be required to have completed OPAC (Office Proficiency Assessment Certification) computer-based testing.

The Mohave County Probation Department has career opportunities available for individuals interested in providing probation services to adult and juvenile offenders. Deputy Probation Officers are responsible for the supervision and investigation of adult or juvenile offenders. This involves reviewing and investigating cases, interviewing offender and families, preparing court reports and recommendations, and supervising adult or juvenile probationers.

Successful applicants must be 21 years of age and must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferably in the behavioral or social sciences, a valid Arizona driver’s license and be of good moral character. New position responsible for implementing and overseeing a specialty drug court program for the Superior Court in Mohave County.  Position researches and proposes staffing, equipment, facilities and operational needs; participates in budget development; works with and monitors effectiveness of treatment providers; prepares and submits grant applications; complies, analyzes and monitors data to show effectiveness of the drug court program; conducts research; prepares reports; surveys participants; develops written protocol, procedures, program literature and/or brochures.  Requires high school diploma or GED and three (3) years of relevant progressively responsible program development, monitoring, management and/or operations experience that includes one (1) year of management and supervision or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Family Counselor - Mediator

Position is primarily responsible for the development, coordination, and facilitation of education training programs for divorce mediation and school peer mediation.  May also assist in conducting divorce mediations. Ideal candidates should possess a Master's Degree in Marriage and Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Family or Adult Education or related field from an accredited college or university (or willingness to obtain the required degree upon appointment); a minimum of 40 hours in a nationally accredited mediation training course or other relevant training organization and two (2) or more years of progressive responsible counseling, mediation and/or education-related experience.  Excellent organizational, analytical, human relations and communication skills are preferred.

Floating Judicial Assistant

The Superior Court of Arizona in and for the County of Mohave is seeking to build a register of applicants from which to consider in the event of a vacancy.  Position is responsible for utilizing specialized equipment while performing professional verbatim reporting and transcribing services for all court proceedings, hearings, and conferences; reading back testimony from stenographic notes and transcripts, and replying to correspondence related to transcripts of proceedings.  The individual selected will be subject to assignment in any Mohave County court location as needed.  Requires the meeting of qualifications for standard certification and currently hold temporary certification pursuant to A.R.S. Title 32, chapter 40 and Arizona Code of Judicial Administration sections 7-206 and 7-207.  Reporting experience in trial courts is required and real time ability preferred.

Performs professional level work conducting interviews, analyzing results of psychological and other testing, consulting with relevant professionals, preparing and submitting written recommendations to the court regarding custody and parenting time.  Requires equivalent of master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in marriage and counseling, social work, psychology or related field and 2+ years progressively responsible counseling and family system related experience.  Domestic violence and child abuse training also required.  Position works in an on-call as needed basis generally not to exceed 20 hours per week.

Volunteer Opportunity

 

Superior Court Judicial Merit Commission Seeks Member

 

The Superior Court in Mohave County is seeking to appoint a resident of Mohave County from the Lake Havasu area to fill a public member vacancy on the Judicial Employee Merit Commission.  The commission meets every other month and is responsible for advising the presiding judge on personnel matters affecting the Superior Court which includes employees from probation and juvenile detention, the office of the clerk of the court, conciliation court, and the superior court divisions.  The commission is responsible for recommending rules, processes and procedures for advancing professionalism and efficiency in the judicial service.  It is also empowered to hear employee grievances involving matters such as application of merit system rules.  Commissioners serve in a volunteer non-paid status.

 

The commission is currently comprised of public members Erin Collins, Lee Haywood and Jackie Walker from Kingman, Carol Silverthorne from Mohave Valley, and employee member Claudia Rutherford from CASA.  The court strives to have a diverse and broad representation on the commission.

 

Appointment to fill the public member vacancy will be made by Honorable Randolph A. Bartlett, Presiding Superior Court Judge, and the individual selected will serve a term through March 27, 2009.  Residents of Mohave County from the Lake Havasu area who have an interest in serving on the commission should return the completed application form to the Mohave County Superior Court Personnel Office, P.O.
